Joining Mu/Dai

Since leaving Starter League just before Summer, I’ve worked with teams in multiple capacities, from UX/Interaction to production front-end.

Working with such a variety of domains has helped shape my process when approaching new clients and new projects. I’ve realized where my skills best fit and where I find the most pleasure when working on something difficult or challenging.

My hardest lessons have been scoping well, and marketing myself. Though, I’ve learned well. Transitioning into independent contract proved easier than I expected too, thanks in huge part to clients flowing immediately out of Techstars.

The projects I’ve been involved with for the past few months have surprised me in many ways. Especially now, looking back over them. In hindsight I can see where my mind went, and why — but I see how much room is left to refactor. Being independent has taught me how to act, how to think, and how to challenge ideas in a group setting. Most of all, I’m very proud of what I’ve shipped.

So what’s next?

I’m joining Mu/Dai as an Interaction Designer starting today, December 1. I’ll be working with Patrick who I can already tell, will help me craft product into narrative.

My goal for the next year is to bleed innovation into my everyday. By December next year, I hope to set a precedent for questioning everything, delivering on creativity, and showcasing what I’ve learned through what I’ve built.

The team is small, but growing quickly. If you’re interested in joining, tweet me @arvindang.

A massive thank you to @enriquegonzalez for helping make this happen.
